Hello!

Hi everyone! My name is Kim! I am just joining you on this learning journey! You must wonder why I am joining you so late! I was going to take this course in the spring but just recently I noticed it was dropped from the schedule and so that is why I am taking it now. I have a lot of work to do in order to catch up with the rest of you!

I work in the Surrey School District and I have been teaching for almost 20 years already! My how the time flies! My experience lies mainly in the primary grades. I have no experience working in a school library but I think it would be the perfect job to have! I love reading and sharing great literature with others. I love the transformative powers of literature and I enjoy seeing the joy that literature and learning can bring to students.  I am very excited about the new aspects of technology that are increasingly becoming a part of the library and can’t wait to explore this with students of all ages. I especially look forward to the opportunity to work with “the big kids” as my grade ones call them! You know, those grade four to seven kids!

I started my library diploma last May and am now on course number 8. It’s been a whirlwind pace but I am enjoying it! After this it is just two more courses on campus (what a treat - being on campus in the summer is so beautiful!) and then I will have my library diploma! I am looking forward to getting to know all of you through the digital world!
